A Letter to My Future Nieces and Goddaughters

I hope this letter finds each of you well. I hope that you all are growing stronger, more beautiful and brilliant by the day. I have so many well wishes and aspirations for each of you. Lessons that I am still learning. Reminders that I still need.

Live out your wildest dreams. Don’t let your youthful imaginations die. They are the essence of who you are.

Take care of yourselves often—physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Do this more often than you do anything else.

It may take you a lifetime to be your authentic self. Don’t ever change once you do.

Whatever you desire, whatever your life’s purpose may be, be it. You embody all of it already.

Remember that the wisdom, love and protection of your ancestors are with each of you always.

Take up space.

Find balance.

Take up space.

Stand firm in your beliefs.

Don’t let anyone silence you.
